Blog for Dang (Don) Dao

Hi everyone, I created a mock blog site for a hypothetical class. You will notice that it has the same functionality as a full website. That's because I used Wordpress added functionality to act as a CMS. You can do this only if you've hosted the blog on your own Internet service provider where I have more control.

The blog is just one of the pages on the site. I added other pages that could possibly be on a website for a my hypothetical class. There are a lot more widgets available when you host if on your own and a lot more cool templates.

The site is dondao.net
The Wordpress login is dondao.net/wp-admin

I added a guest account if you want to login and poke around. You can write your own post with this level:
username: guest
password: password

Also, I've added a discussion board using the bbPress plugin. You can login with the above and post on the discussion forum using the same login above. It's pretty cool. A link to the discussion board can be found on the right hand column of the page.

What I like best about your blog is that you show what is possible for a blog - it doesn't just have to be a series of posts, but can have all the functions of a website. I enjoyed reading the blog and journal prompt for Scream of Joy.

Your blog is very organized and looks great! I can definitely see it being very useful as a student. I like that you have assignments listed, grades, and even resources available for your students. It is more user friendly than beachboard!

Your blog exceeded what I envisioned a blog actually being. The fact that is so easily navigated, a great place to store information, and has the ability to facilitate communication is awesome.

Don, I really like your blog, too! I wish I know how to use all the tools available to make websites more interactive and dynamic. As I said in class, I'm one who tries to do a little of everything but a master of nothing... I even tried to put together a website using a WYSIWYG program and the end result? Anthony's Website

I'd love to learn how to put together a more interactive and dynamic website.

The organization and template you chose to work with was very clean. Definitely can be useful for a classroom resource area versus using a expensive Learning Management System. Allowing us to access the administrator side of your blog helps if we wanted to create one similar. Thanks!
